Seasonal Harvest Inspectors - Ag World Support Systems Easton, Maine Are you looking to work for a growing company that values YOU? Ag World Support Systems is the trusted leader in agricultural inspection services worldwide. Ag World Support Systems is hiring for the position of Seasonal Harvest Inspector to perform both sampling and inspections for harvest at McCain Foods in Easton, Maine. Starting $18.65/hour with potential up to $20.65/hour. 12-hour shifts. Accurately calculate averages and percentages; record data; able to lift 35lbs and stand for long periods of time; work safely in noisy, dusty conditions; communicate in English and maintain positive work relationships. PTO and Holidays after 30 days of service. Full time employees upon completion of 3 months with 30 hours average/week eligible for medical, vision, life, and matching 401(k). FUNCTION
Perform various duties such as sampling, inspection, and additional services as they arise.
SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES
Maintain positive attitude with co-workers, management staff and customers. Accurately record inspection results. Assist in implementation of QA program. Maintain working knowledge of grade criteria for application in potato inspection. Perform inspection process according to grade criteria. Maintain high level of confidentiality. Comply with all safety and housekeeping procedures and practices. Stay on duty until relieved or as directed by supervisor/lead. Appropriate AWSS personnel may assign other accountabilities as necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS
High School or equivalent education preferred. Analytical skills with ability to calculate averages and percentages. Knowledge of potato inspection process preferred. Communicate effectively in English. Follow written and oral instructions. Basic computer skills preferred
REQUIREMENTS
Lift up to 35 pounds properly. Work in an outside environment in varied conditions. Stand for long periods of time and be mobile. Differentiate color. (Not color blind) Work around noise, dirt, odors, dusts chemicals, fumes, and in poorly ventilated areas. Work around potential mechanical hazards such as machinery, conveyor belts, chains, and forklifts. Work around icy, slippery, muddy, uneven flooring and surfaces. May operate forklifts and/or skid steers.
