Job Description Overview Auburn University is seeking a Forestry Technician to support forestry research programs by performing a variety of technical and operational tasks. This position assists with activities that contribute to the successful implementation and support of research efforts within the forestry program. This is a one-year limited-term position. Continued employment is contingent upon the availability of funding. Responsibilities Collects, records, summarizes, and/or reports data on new and existing laboratory and/or field research projects. Plants, waters, fertilizes, and harvests trees and/or other plants for research and reforestation. May assist with the production of presentation and publication materials associated with collected data. May repair and maintain Dixon Center buildings and property. May operate and maintain heavy equipment such as tractors, bulldozers, and road graders. May assist with prescribed burning. May plant food plots for wildlife. May obtain tree and plot measurements for inventory and sale of forest products. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent. Valid Driver's License

Yes, When a candidate has the required education, but lacks the required experience, they may normally apply additional appropriate education toward the experience requirement, at a rate of one (1) year relevant education per year of required experience.
