Job Description

Position Summary:

Barn staff help with daily feeding, turnout, mucking and barn chores. This role requires knowledge of horses, quick decision making, flexibility, and leadership qualities.

Experience:

Equine and barn experience Excellent interpersonal skills & personal integrity Ability to work independently Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds for up to 10 feet and sustain aerobic activity for 30 consecutive minutes Must be able to work in a variety of positions, including but not limited to: stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, sitting Must be able to tolerate a variety of outdoor conditions, varying turf surfaces, air-conditioned buildings, and fluorescent lights Must be able to operate and use equipment necessary to perform essential functions of the job Exercise common sense and can take initiative to accomplish tasks and make decisions

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

Feeding animals Turning out, bringing in equines Handling manure disposal from barn and pastures Responsible for seeking medical care for equines/animals on the property as necessary Help in special events as needed Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

Legally able to work in the U.S. HS Diploma or Equivalent Insured driver with a well-functioning car Willingness to travel in winter weather

Schedule:
