Dock Staff Britannia Yachting Center Northport, NY Job Details Part-time | Full-time From $17 an hour 1 day ago Benefits Flexible schedule Qualifications Customer communication Safety regulations Groundskeeping Driver's License Manual handling Full Job Description Description Britannia Yachting Center is seeking seasonal full and part time Dockhands for positions that could lead to year-round employment. The Dockhand is responsible for assisting the marina team in order to serve marina customers and guests by performing a variety of tasks including but not limited to general operation of the docks and assisting boaters. The Dockhand must work to maintain a safe and clean environment throughout marina facilities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provide Britannia Yachting Center members with the best experience possible. Greet all customers in a manner that expresses a kind, courteous and professional character Help orient members and guests to the marina, facilities, and answer other commonly asked questions. Assist customers with general boating needs. Maintain and clean restrooms, docks, walkways, grounds and other areas designated by management. Ensure docks and equipment are operational at all times. Comply with OSHA regulations, environmental regulations, and adhere to all site rules and expectations. Availability to work overtime when required. Must be available to work weekends and holidays. Other duties as assigned by Manager. Safety and Environmental Responsibilities Follow BYC Safety and Environmental rules and complete required related training. Wear proper personal protective equipment (may include safety glasses, gloves, life jackets and/or hard hats) as required for the task or work area. Report all accidents, injuries, spills and near misses immediately. Technical and Physical Requirements • Valid Driver's License. Ability to work safely around the water. Must be able to swim. Ability to lift 30 pounds. Basic boat handling skills preferred. Previous marina experience preferred. Previous customer service experience preferred.
