Position Summary Reporting to the Vice President of Support Services, this position maintains the overall appearance and equipment of Powers Health properties while focusing on patient, visitor and staff safety. This role combines hands-on grounds maintenance with planning and executing landscape improvements, ensuring outdoor spaces are both functional and visually well-designed. The position leads a grounds crew and manages projects from concept through completion into day to day maintenance. The Head Groundskeeper will lead the grounds team to perform the maintenance of the Hospital campuses, i.e. walkways, entrances, garage areas, trees, grass. In addition, they will oversee maintenance contracts including grass cutting, fertilizer application, insecticide application, snow plowing and removal, and work with the irrigation systems. They will also be responsible for preventative maintenance on grounds equipment and Hospital vehicles. Job Responsibilities Demonstrates responsibility and accountability by performing all job duties in accordance with established organizational and departmental policies and procedures. Performs assigned tasks in a professional manner in order to reflect the highest integrity of the Groundskeeping Completes assignments in a timely manner. Demonstrates and provides thorough knowledge of the Hospital grounds (i.e. irrigation systems, trees, grass, landscaped areas). Maintains State of Indiana commercial applicators license for Catergory 3A

• Ornamental Pest Management, Category 3B
• Turf Management, and Category 6
• Industrial Weed Management.

Sustains inventory of chemicals and supplies for each Hospital location. Plan and implement landscape designs for lawns, gardens, walkways, and outdoor facilities. Oversee installation of plants, trees, shrubs, sod, mulch, hardscape features, and drainage systems Coordinate site preparation including grading, soil amendment, and erosion control. Select appropriate plant materials based on climate, soil, and site conditions and ensure proper spacing, planting techniques, and long-term sustainability of installations. Supervise and train groundskeeping staff and maintain performance reviews of grounds team Coordinate preventative maintenance on grounds equipment and hospital vehicles. Safely operate grounds equipment including all hand tools, gas and electric powered tools, Gator UTV, and Bobcat with the ability to train grounds team members Oversee all tree trimming fertilization, and spraying of herbicides. Organize RFPs for landscaping and snow removal contracts and manage adherence and execution of contracted tasks. Education/Experience High School graduate or equivalent 5 years job related experience required Must have valid Driver's License (operation of hospital vehicles is mandatory for this position) Ability to operate a Bobcat excavator or similar equipment Must have State of Indiana commercial applicators license for Categoy 3A, 3B, and 6.
