Hiring Pesticide Applicator's License Full Job Description Position Overview:
Norfolk County is seeking a motivated and qualified Superintendent to join our team. Reporting to the County Director, this role is integral to the upkeep and enhancement of the golf course. Responsible for promoting a professional work environment that features a commitment to customer service for all users of the Wollaston Recreation Facility. The Superintendent will lead maintenance personnel, Golf Pro services, oversee daily operations, and ensure the facility's standards align with industry excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Supervision Lead and direct the Golf Course Maintenance Crew and conduct performance reviews. Assign daily work schedules and secondary tasks for personnel. Hire, train, and schedule the maintenance crew. Ensure compliance with safety standards and proper handling of chemicals and machinery. Maintenance Golf Course Supervise equipment maintenance, including preventive care, winter reconditioning, and in-season repairs. Oversee the functioning and maintenance of the irrigation system, including spring start-up, programming irrigation cycles, preventative maintenance, and winterization. Plan and execute agronomic programs for greens, tees, fairways, and roughs. This involves mowing, fertilizing, aerating, and pest and disease control. Training and Safety Train staff in proper equipment operation and maintenance procedures. Promote and enforce safety practices in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Operations and Budget Management Prepare and submit to the County the annual operating and capital budget requests. Monitor and control departmental expenses to stay within budget constraints. Prepare and submit and supplemental budget requests and transfer requests. Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the golf course, equipment, and all facilities. Manage all members of the staff. Special Projects and Repairs Direct and oversee special repair or modification projects as required. Perform additional duties as assigned, including acting as the Irrigation Technician when needed. Coordinate closely with the Head Golf Professional and Assistant Superintendent to align maintenance schedules with tournaments, tee times, and member/guest needs.
Pay:
$87,302.00 - $112,084.17 per year
