Golf Course Superintendent

Job Description

Job description Grand Blanc area 18-hole private golf course seeks superintendent to manage all golf course maintenance and upkeep. Position to include all course activities and associated equipment maintenance. Critical skills and tasks include repair and maintenance of all course equipment, annual maintenance record keeping, managing and control of budget requirements, scheduling and development of maintenance workers. Current position is considered seasonal, annual employment opportunity is possibility. Previous experience and/or Turf Management degree required for application to be considered. Successful candidate will have an opportunity to develop and maintain a position in an organization with growth potential and long term opportunities. Organize and direct employees to perform a variety of tasks, which may include any combination of the following: general golf course maintenance, golf course cultural practices, mowing, trimming, planting, watering, fertilizing, digging, raking, and sprinkler installation and repair Clubhouse and golf course landscape maintenance and installation Supervise, manage, and motivate employees on a daily basis Educate employees in a safe and productive manner Maintains tools and equipment Other essential tasks as assigned Knowledge, Skills and Ability Turf Degree a plus (Associates or Bachelors in Turfgrass Management or related field of study) Previous golf course management experience Excellent communication and organizational skills Ability to develop/evaluate/explain a budget Knowledge and understanding of various irrigation systems and troubleshooting Knowledge and understanding of chemical and fertilizer applications Experience using turf grass maintenance equipment or other landscaping equipment Demonstrated experience with landscaping installation and maintenance Ability to perform routine maintenance repairs Working knowledge of Word and Excel Must have or obtain Michigan Pesticide License within 90 days of employment Experience with Toro Irrigation systems
