Job Description

Vegetation Control Crew Leader

We are seeking a Vegetation Control Crew Leader to join our team. This role involves managing vegetation control for our commercial clients and ensuring landscapes are maintained to the highest standards. Crew Leaders are also responsible for preparing and driving company equipment, directing, and developing their crews. The ideal candidate will be certified in Core and Category 6 (Right-of-Way and Weed Control) to perform weed spraying duties effectively and safely.

The ability to walk for long periods of time

Able to carry a backpack sprayer weighing up to 50 pounds

The capacity to work independently and also lead a crew

The ability to identify common weeds of Michigan

The ability to operate and care for assigned equipment

Skill in reading map directions from a mobile device or hard copy

Desire to work daily at the highest level of professionalism, quality, and performance

Desire to work with a team to accomplish goals

Ability to bend, squat, and lift for long periods of time

Able to work outdoors in a wide variety of conditions for an extended period of time. Certification in Core and Category 6 (Right-of-Way and Weed Control) or the ability to obtain (pay rate and title will be evaluated once Core and Category 6 are obtained).

A valid Michigan chauffeur's license or the ability to obtain one.

Ability to read pesticide labels and accurately measure pesticides according to label rate.

Strong attention to detail and safety protocols.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Smartphone required
