Job Description

Position Overview McAlester Country Club is seeking a professional and experienced Country Club Manager to oversee the daily operations of our member-focused club. The manager serves as the chief operating leader of the organization and is responsible for delivering excellent member service, managing staff, maintaining facilities, and ensuring efficient club operations. The position reports directly to the Board of Directors and directs the work of all club employees including department supervisors and office staff.
Starting Salary:
$60,000-$80,000 based on experience.
Qualifications:
  • High School diploma required. Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years' experience in hospitality, club management, recreation management, or related field.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Budgeting and operational management experience
  • Experience with club management software, QuickBooks, Microsoft Word, and Excel
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and special events.
Organizational Structure:
Board of Directors ↓ Country Club Manager ↓ Department Supervisors Food & Beverage Manager Golf Professional Grounds Supervisor Administrative Staff Office Administrator Bookkeeping / Accounting Support Administrative Assistants Swimming Pool Operations Lifeguards and seasonal pool staff are administered through the office and operate under the supervision of the Country Club Manager. Pool scheduling, staffing coordination, and recordkeeping are managed through the club office rather than through a separate department supervisor.
Key Responsibilities:
Club Operations Oversee daily operations including clubhouse services, dining operations, golf operations, grounds maintenance, office administration, and swimming pool operations. Ensure high-quality member experiences and service standards. Coordinate events, tournaments, and club activities. Staff Leadership Direct the work of all club employees and department supervisors. Hire, supervise, discipline, and terminate employees below the supervisor level. Foster a professional and service-oriented workplace. Financial Oversight Assist in preparing and managing the annual club budget. Oversee billing, dues collection, vendor payments, and financial reporting. Coordinate with office staff and outside accountants or bookkeepers. Governance Implement policies established by the Board of Directors. Provide regular operational and financial reports to the Board. Community Representation Serve as a professional representative of the club within the local community. Community involvement and participation in civic or business organizations is encouraged.

The manager must maintain a neat, professional, business-casual appearance appropriate for a country club environment.
