ASSISTANT SUPERINTENDENT - SAL

Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities Course Maintenance:
Assist in planning and executing daily maintenance tasks, including mowing, fertilizing, and pest control.
Staff Supervision:
Coordinate and supervise groundskeeping staff, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and to high standards.
Irrigation Management:
Monitor and manage the irrigation system to ensure optimal water usage and turf health.
Equipment Maintenance:
Oversee the maintenance and repair of all golf course equipment and machinery.
Landscape Management:
Assist in the design and maintenance of landscaping around the course, including trees, shrubs, and flower beds.
Safety Compliance:
Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and environmental standards.
Record Keeping:
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, chemical applications, and equipment servicing.
Customer Service:
Interact with golfers and address any concerns or issues related to course conditions.
Physical Body Parts Used:
Hands and Fingers:
For operating machinery, handling tools, and performing detailed maintenance tasks.
Eyes:
For inspecting turf conditions, identifying pests or diseases, and ensuring safety compliance.
Legs and Feet:
For walking the course, operating equipment, and performing physical tasks.
Ears:
For listening to staff, receiving instructions, and monitoring equipment sounds.
Voice:
For giving instructions, coordinating with staff, and communicating with golfers.
Qualifications:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Turf Management, Horticulture, or a related field. Minimum of 2 years of experience in golf course maintenance or a similar role. Strong knowledge of turfgrass management and irrigation systems. Excellent leadership and communication skills. Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions. Proficiency in maintenance software and tools.
