Head Groundskeeper / Estate Grounds Manager Full-Time — Seminole, AL We're looking for an experienced grounds professional to take ownership of a diverse, 171-acre working estate — one mile of riverfront, two stocked lakes, fruit orchards, vegetable gardens, and small livestock. This is a hands-on role for someone who's managed real acreage, not just lawns: irrigation systems, turf, ornamental plantings, water features, and animals all fall under this position. If you've built a career in professional grounds or estate management — not seasonal lawn care — and want to work outdoors on a property with real variety and scope, we want to hear from you. What You'll Do Daily Monitor and adjust irrigation systems; hand-water as needed Prune and trim trees, shrubs, and ornamental plantings Mow and edge turf areas to a professional standard Stock fire pits Provide daily care for estate livestock (goats, donkeys, chickens) and stocked ponds Maintain plant health through mulching, fertilizing, watering, and pruning Keep grounds clean — trash removal and receptacle upkeep Track tool, equipment, and materials inventory; ensure equipment is serviced and usable Weekly Restock fish, duck, chicken, and bison populations Prepare a weekly blooming/plant health report Harvest and deliver fruit, herbs, and vegetables at peak ripeness Quarterly Inspect lighting for safety Complete the security protocol checklist Assess pond and lake health Apply weed treatment Maintain master site plans for buildings, roadways, pathways, parking, and utility lines (electrical, gas, water, telephone) Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and eco-tourism standards Identify plant diseases and pests; order and coordinate appropriate treatment Coordinate beekeeping and sharecropping agreements What We're Looking For This is a professional estate management role — not routine residential lawn care. We're prioritizing candidates who can demonstrate: Required 3+ years of professional grounds, estate, or land management experience (large private estates, golf courses, botanical gardens, resorts, orchards, or working farms) Hands-on experience maintaining and troubleshooting irrigation systems Working knowledge of turf management, pruning technique, and plant health/disease diagnostics 1+ year of animal care experience (livestock and/or fish/poultry) Ability to operate and maintain grounds equipment (tractors, mowers, chainsaws, etc.) Valid driver's license Preferred Degree or certificate in horticulture, turf management, landscape management, or agriculture State pesticide applicator license, or willingness to obtain one ISA Certified Arborist, or working toward certification Experience managing pond or lake water quality Comfortable reading and maintaining site plans/blueprints Benefits Medical, Dental, Vision 401(k) matching Paid time off Location Must be able to commute to or relocate to Seminole, AL before starting
