At the Gold Country Fairgrounds and Event Center, the maintenance department is responsible for maintaining the grounds and its continued beautification. Our biggest events are quickly approaching, and we need 2 additional new hires to add to the team for weekends. We are a dedicated team and will be selecting seasonal positions. Our goal is to have happy workers who enjoy their job, while maintaining this wonderful property, and bring world class service to our guests.
Benefits and pay range:
45 working day probation
Responsibilities and Duties:
Planting and trimming on the grounds and landscaping Minor plumbing, and electrical repairs Maintains equipment and tools, and makes minor repairs Clean, restock bathrooms, remove garbage Repair/cleanout irrigation and sprinklers Sets up, and breaks down for all events
Requirements and Qualifications:
A high school diploma or the equivalent is required. Weekends mandatory. Not to exceed 125 days or 1,000 hours in a fiscal year. 1-2 Years of experience required. The ability to read the English language sufficiently to understand written work orders and instructions. Must enjoy working outside, sometimes all day. Requires the ability to lift and carry groundskeeping supplies and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. Driver's license preferred. Skill in the proper operation and maintenance of grounds maintenance tools, equipment, and machinery is required. Must be able to do work on your own, with little supervision. Forklift/heavy equipment certification desirable.
Supervision:
The groundskeeper/general maintenance worker is supervised by the Maintenance Mechanic, and generally does not exercise supervision of others, however may be required to supervise student workers, or temporary employees
