Grounds Operations Specialist at La Habra City School District Print Application Deadline 9/15/2026 4:00 PM Pacific Date Posted 9/1/2026 Contact Brenda Baez-Llamas 562-690-2326 Number of Openings 1 Salary Pay Range $5,047 - $6,453 (6-steps) Monthly Length of Work Year 8 hours/day - 12 months/year Employment Type Full Time Job Summary Job Summary The job of Grounds Operations Specialist is for the purpose of providing support to grounds maintenance crews by ensuring completion of assigned scheduled routes, work order projects and assigned work order projects; installing and maintaining all irrigation and backflow systems at all District sites; performing a wide variety of skilled maintenance activities, including carpentry, plumbing, and concrete work; assisting other maintenance workers; and ensuring that tools and materials are available at job site. EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE

Any combination equivalent to: Graduation from high school or equivalency, supplemented with coursework or training in irrigation systems and/or grounds maintenance, repair, and construction functions and activities. Three (3) years of responsible experience in grounds maintenance work, including two (2) years of experience in the installations, repair and maintenance of automatic sprinkler and irrigation systems. EXAMINATION PROCEDURES

This is a promotional and open competitive recruitment. The examination may consist of a training and experience (supplemental responses) evaluation, written test or performance test and a structured oral interview. To qualify to be placed on an eligibility list, a candidate must obtain a passing score on each test part of the examination process. Final scores will be obtained by combining the relative weights of scores on each test part. If Veteran's credit is claimed, proof of status (DD214) must be submitted to the Classified Personnel Office at the same time the application form is submitted or prior to testing. The life of the eligibility list will be twelve (12) months. The resulting eligibility list will be used to fill current and future permanent and substitute vacancies. Applicants who may need reasonable accommodation for interviewing or testing must notify the Personnel Department at (562) 690-2321, three business days prior to the testing date. Date of Examination Candidates who are among the most qualified shall be notified via email or telephone of the time, date and place of the examination(s).
