This energetic position involves performing a variety of groundskeeping, landscaping, and maintenance tasks to ensure landscapes are healthy, safe, and visually appealing. Whether working on residential, commercial, or public projects, you'll contribute to transforming outdoor environments while gaining valuable skills in landscape management and equipment operation. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity for outdoor enthusiasts eager to develop their expertise in horticulture, grounds maintenance, and landscape construction. Responsibilities Assist with landscape maintenance tasks including mowing, edging, pruning, planting, and fertilizing to promote healthy growth and aesthetic appeal. Operate ground maintenance and landscaping equipment such as power tools, lawnmowers, trimmers, excavators, and irrigation systems safely and efficiently. Identify various plants, trees, shrubs, and flowers to ensure proper care and pest management. Support hardscape installation projects by preparing sites, laying pavers or stones, and assisting with construction of pathways or retaining walls. Perform routine groundskeeping duties like debris removal, snow plowing during winter months, and general cleanup to maintain a tidy work environment. Follow safety protocols diligently to prevent accidents during outdoor work activities involving machinery or hazardous materials. Collaborate with team members on irrigation system installation and maintenance to ensure optimal watering schedules for landscape health. Qualifications Prior outdoor work experience or background in landscaping or grounds maintenance is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for outdoor environments is essential. Mechanical knowledge of landscaping equipment, power tools, and irrigation systems is highly desirable. Ability to identify plants and understand basic horticulture principles; pesticide management knowledge is a plus. Familiarity with safety procedures related to equipment operation and outdoor work environments. Strong work ethic with the ability to follow instructions carefully while working independently or as part of a team. Construction experience or familiarity with hardscape installation can be beneficial but is not mandatory. Valid driver's license preferred; ability to operate small machinery such as excavators or tree trimming tools is advantageous.
