Chainsaw Driving Landscaping Chipper Full Job Description Job Summary:

K&J Tree Service is seeking a skilled and dependable Ground Worker to support our tree crews in daily field operations. This is a hands-on role for an individual who takes pride in their work, understands the pace and demands of professional tree care, and plays a critical part in maintaining safe and efficient job sites. This position is well-suited for someone with industry experience who values teamwork, operates with urgency, and understands that strong ground support is essential to the success of every job. The ideal candidate is attentive, physically capable, and confident working around heavy equipment, rigging systems, and active tree operations.

Responsibilities:

• Support climbers and bucket operators during tree removal and pruning operations.
• Operate chainsaws, wood chippers, and other ground equipment safely and efficiently.
• Manage ropes, rigging lines, and lowering devices during technical removals.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free job site at all times.
• Assist with cutting, dragging, chipping, and processing brush and wood.
• Coordinate with crew members to maintain workflow and efficiency throughout the day.
• Perform basic maintenance and daily checks on equipment and tools.
• Follow all company safety protocols and ANSI standards.
• Work in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and snow.

Requirements:

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (CDL is a plus).
• Minimum of one year of experience in tree care, landscaping, or similar field work.
• Experience operating chainsaws and wood chippers safely.
• Basic understanding of rigging, knots, and ground support for tree work.
• Strong awareness of job site safety and ability to follow direction.
• Physically capable of lifting, dragging, and working on your feet throughout the day.
• Ability to work outdoors year-round in all weather conditions.
• Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn and grow within the company

Compensation and Benefits:

• The employee will be paid $22-30 based on Experience and Skillset.
• The employee can enter our company retirement program with a 3% company match after a 90-day probation period.
• The employee can enter our company medical insurance program with 50% coverage paid by K&J (dental and vision are also available) after a 90-day probation period.

Work Schedule:

Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM-3:30 PM (overtime available and encouraged).

Pay:

$22.00 - $30.00 per hour
