Job Description

Wesleyan School is currently seeking a grounds technician. The job is labor intensive and ideal for someone who loves the outdoors and can fully appreciate a long day of work on a beautiful campus. The ideal candidate is a team player who will be fully invested in their time at Wesleyan and takes pride in their work.

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of grounds maintenance procedures.
  
• Knowledge of hand and power tools and light and heavy landscaping equipment.
  
• Skilled in the operation of assigned vehicles, tools, and equipment.
  
• Valid Georgia Driver's License required and maintains a good driving record.
  
• High school graduation or equivalent and minimum of 21 years of age.
  
• A citizen of the Unites States or has obtained legal work status.
  
• Must pass a detailed background investigation.
  
• Work evenings, weekends, and/or special events, as required.
  
• Ability to safely lift 50 pounds.

Expectations:

• Has a keen eye for detail, monitors areas for trash, branches, debris, etc. This includes parking lots, entrances, and parkway. Keeps all areas neat and tidy.
  
• Assists mowing, edging, blowing, and detailing athletic fields and common areas on our 86-acre campus.
  
• Assists painting athletic fields.
  
• Prepares for baseball and softball practices/games including dragging, making daily field repairs, edging, chalking, checking dugouts and stands, staying for double-headers.
  
• Prepares for football games, including breaking down after games.
  
• Prepares for Cross Country and Track meets, including painting, setting out hurdles, ribbons, and cones.
  
• Assists in keeping tennis courts/pavilions/surrounding areas clean and tidy.
  
• Assists Facilities Operations Team with setup/breakdown of special events.
  
• Assist with fertilizer application.
  
• Overtime for events is required, including weekdays and Saturdays when scheduled.

Average overtime expected is about 100 hours per year. A hard worker can gain more overtime hours.

More about our school - Wesleyan School is a renowned K-12 Private Christian School of academic and athletic excellence. Wesleyan currently sits on a campus of greater than 86 acres with over 0.5 million square feet of building
