Job Summary Join our dedicated grounds maintenance team as a Lawn Care and Cemetery Crew Member, where you will play a vital role in maintaining beautiful, well-kept outdoor spaces and serene cemetery grounds. You will be responsible for performing lawn care, landscape maintenance, and cemetery grounds management with precision and care. Responsibilities Operate lawn mowers, trimmers, blowers, and other power tools to maintain grassed areas and landscape features efficiently. Perform routine landscape maintenance tasks such as planting, pruning, mulching, and edging to enhance the visual appeal of outdoor spaces. Maintain cemetery grounds by mowing lawns, trimming shrubs, planting flowers, and ensuring pathways are clean and accessible. Use hand tools and ground maintenance equipment safely to perform hardscape repairs or installations as needed. Manage irrigation systems to ensure proper watering schedules and troubleshoot issues to keep plants healthy. Follow safety protocols diligently during all outdoor work activities to prevent accidents or injuries. Identify various plants, trees, shrubs, and flowers to ensure proper care or removal when necessary. Skills Mechanical knowledge of landscaping equipment, power tools, irrigation systems, and grounds maintenance machinery. Experience with landscape maintenance techniques including mowing, edging, pruning, planting, and hardscape work. Familiarity with plant identification and horticulture principles to promote healthy growth of landscaped areas. Ability to operate hand tools safely and efficiently while adhering to safety protocols. Knowledge of pesticide management practices for pest control in landscaped areas (if certified or trained). Outdoor work experience that demonstrates stamina and attention to detail in varying weather conditions. Strong understanding of grounds maintenance procedures combined with excellent teamwork skills for collaborative projects.
