We run four crews daily — three spider-lift crews and one crane crew — taking down trees, pruning, and handling emergency storm work across the Grand Rapids area. Our crews are backed by ISA Certified Arborists and our CarePromise® commitment to doing the job right. The Job Ground crew is the backbone of every tree job. You'll work alongside a crew leader and climbers/lift operators to safely take trees down and clear the site. This is fast-paced, physical, outdoor work where the crew depends on each other every minute. What you'll do: Drag and chip brush, cut and stack wood, rake and clean job sites Operate a wood chipper, mini skid steer, and other equipment Run chainsaws for ground cutting and bucking logs Set up cones and work-zone safety on job sites Load, strap, and secure equipment and trailers Assist the crew leader with rigging and roping as directed Perform daily equipment checks, greasing, and truck pre-trip inspections Drive company trucks and trailers to and from job sites What We're Looking For Clean driving record — required. We run an MVR on every hire. Must pass a background checkComfortable operating machinery (chipper, skid steer, chainsaws) — experience preferred, but we'll train the right person Team-oriented — you show up, communicate, and pull your weight Able to work at a fast pace outdoors in all seasons and lift 50+ lbs repeatedly Reliable — crews leave the shop at 7:15 AM sharp Tree care, landscaping, logging, or construction experience is a plus CDL is a plus, not required Why Timber Ridge Year-round work — tree removal, pruning, storm response, and winter services Training on spider lifts, chippers, and rigging from experienced arborists Path to Crew Leader, climber, or ISA Certified Arborist for those who want to grow Modern, well-maintained equipment Stable, established company — not a two-guys-and-a-truck operation
Schedule:
Monday-Friday, early start, with occasional storm/emergency work.
