Responsibilities Operate lawn mowers, trimmers, blowers, power tools, and landscape maintenance equipment safely and efficiently to maintain lawns and gardens. Perform landscape maintenance tasks including mowing, edging, pruning, planting, watering, fertilizing, and mulching to promote healthy plant growth. Maintain irrigation systems by inspecting for leaks or malfunctions and making necessary adjustments or repairs. Identify various plants, trees, shrubs, and flowers to ensure proper care and pest management. Apply pesticides and herbicides following strict safety protocols to control pests while protecting the environment. Conduct groundskeeping duties such as leaf removal, snow plowing during winter months, hardscape cleaning, and minor construction or repair work as needed. Use hand tools like shovels, rakes, pruners along with ground maintenance equipment including excavators when necessary for larger projects. Follow all safety procedures diligently to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment for yourself and team members. Skills Strong mechanical knowledge of landscaping tools and grounds maintenance equipment operation. Extensive outdoor work experience with a focus on landscape maintenance and gardening practices. Knowledge of horticulture principles including plant identification and proper care techniques. Familiarity with irrigation systems installation, troubleshooting, and repair methods. Ability to operate power tools safely and efficiently while adhering to safety protocols. Experience with tree care activities such as trimming or pruning to promote healthy growth. Construction experience related to hardscape projects or site improvements is a plus. Basic understanding of pesticide management practices for pest control in outdoor environments. Excellent attention to detail combined with physical stamina for outdoor tasks in various weather conditions.
