These are not required. If desired, we plan to have expanded positions open for a second Garden Sales/Designer, Job Captain, an Operations Manager quite soon.
Requirements:
Proven horticultural knowledge, sequencing, and practical process knowledge, and/or certification in disease/pesticide application as well as a positive "Can-do" attitude and servant-leadership style of management. Minimum of one season's experience in the field of professional gardening, softscape, professional horticulture, or related field. An average week late spring through August is 35-45 hours, less during April, September, November, December. Winter work is optional! Due to the need to meet customers in a timely manner, applicants must live within 15 minutes of our Headquarters near Victoria, MN.
Compensation:
Hourly rate of $19.35
24.75 + Performance Pay bonus for quality, efficient work expected to range up to additional $8 per hour+ FANTASTIC!
1.5x overtime on optional Saturdays, 2x time on Sundays/Holidays

Additional $3.00/hour when managing others (Job Captain)

Responsibilities:
Depending on mix, Gardeners help with several of the following tasks:
Gardening:
Peaceful gardening tasks involve removing unwanted plants and planting happy ones. Shoveling, bending, twisting, as well as spreading mulch happens most days. Please note, some folks tend to focus on gardening OR heavier Landscape duties. Both are welcome as long as the work is completed..
Landscape duties: Digging/carrying soil, organic composts, as well as small trees and shrubs. Some use of mechanical equipment, if comfortable. Exceptional training in-house. Please note, some folks tend to focus on gardening OR heavier Landscape duties. Both are welcome as long as the work is completed.
Customer Service:
(Like the song "Be Our Guest" but with plants) Customer interaction: meets the customer, informs them of changes, lets them know progress at the end of each workday either in person or with a phone/text and photo of progress. Provides customer with updates, sales/support materials.
Safety and efficiency: Show each other you appreciate them: Report problematic trends, damaged or worn tools/equipment, low inventory, and other observations to management in a timely manner to reduce others' frustrations, inefficiencies, and possible safety issues. Leads and enforces a safe worksite which includes the distribution and use of proper PPE.
Consistency:
Complete punch-list tasks including Work Order tasks in a timely manner

Uses resources at hand to solve problems safely and professionally
