The Assistant Groundskeeper supports the care, maintenance, and appearance of landscaped areas, lawns, parking lots, walkways, and outdoor facilities across multiple locations. This position assists with daily upkeep, seasonal projects, and special event preparations to ensure all properties remain safe, attractive, and well-maintained.

Jefferson and St Louis Counties Position Summary:
Perform routine grounds maintenance, including mowing, trimming, edging, weeding, pruning, and planting. Assist with seasonal duties such as leaf removal, snow and ice control, and irrigation system setup or winterization. Maintain cleanliness of exterior areas, including sidewalks, parking lots, and entryways. Operate and maintain grounds equipment such as mowers, blowers, trimmers, utility vehicles, and hand tools. Support landscape installation or improvement projects under direction of the Lead Groundskeeper. Perform light maintenance and repair of outdoor fixtures, fencing, and signage as assigned. Travel between assigned sites according to maintenance schedules and operational needs. Assist with setup and takedown for outdoor events or facility functions. Report equipment issues, safety hazards, or property damage promptly.
Qualifications:
At least one year of experience in landscaping, groundskeeping, or related work preferred. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical labor outdoors in all weather conditions. In Spring and Summer, the work is predominately outdoors. Knowledge of grounds equipment operation, basic landscape maintenance, and safe work practices. Self-motivated with strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
