Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Groundsman to join our outdoor maintenance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining the aesthetic appeal, safety, and functionality of various outdoor spaces. Your expertise in landscape maintenance, equipment operation, and horticultural practices will ensure that grounds are healthy, attractive, and well-kept. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work outdoors in a dynamic environment, contributing to the beauty and safety of our properties through diligent groundskeeping and landscaping efforts. Duties Operate ground maintenance equipment such as mowers, trimmers, excavators, and power tools to perform lawn care, landscaping, and hardscape installation. Maintain and repair irrigation systems to ensure proper watering of plants and turf areas. Conduct landscape maintenance activities including planting, pruning, tree care, and gardening to promote healthy growth and visual appeal. Perform snow plowing, snow removal, and seasonal cleanup tasks to keep outdoor areas safe during winter months. Identify various plants, trees, pests, and diseases to support effective horticulture practices and pesticide management. Follow safety protocols rigorously while handling equipment and chemicals; ensure all work complies with safety standards. Assist with construction projects such as hardscape installation or site preparation using appropriate tools and techniques. Support outdoor project planning by preparing sites for planting or construction activities while ensuring environmental sustainability. Qualifications Proven outdoor work experience with knowledge of landscape maintenance, gardening, or groundskeeping. Mechanical knowledge related to operating lawn care machinery, power tools, irrigation systems, and landscaping equipment including excavators. Familiarity with plant identification, horticulture principles, pesticide management, and tree care techniques. Ability to operate hand tools safely and efficiently; experience with hardscape installation is a plus. Strong understanding of safety protocols related to outdoor work environments and equipment operation. Construction experience or familiarity with site preparation is desirable. Excellent physical stamina for prolonged outdoor activity in various weather conditions; ability to lift heavy objects as needed.
