Job Description

The Student worker will assist the Athletic Grounds staff with the daily maintenance, preparation, and upkeep of athletic fields and surrounding areas. This position provides hands-on experience in sports field maintenance, landscaping, turf care, equipment operation, and general grounds maintenance. Driver's license required for this position.
Duties Include:
Assist with mowing, trimming, edging, and general maintenance of athletic fields and surrounding grounds. Assist with preparing athletic fields for practices, games, and special events. Help with field lining, painting, dragging, aerating, seeding, fertilizing, and other turf maintenance activities. Maintain warning tracks, dugouts, spectator areas, walkways, and other areas surrounding athletic facilities. Operate hand tools and approved grounds maintenance equipment under supervision. Assist with weed control, landscaping, planting, mulching, and other landscape maintenance activities. Pick up trash and debris and help maintain a clean and safe environment around athletic facilities. Assist with setting up and removing athletic field equipment, including goals, nets, bases, fences, and other field components. Help with game-day and event preparation, including setup and cleanup. Report damaged equipment, unsafe conditions, irrigation problems, or field issues to the Athletic Grounds supervisor.
Education:
Must be a currently enrolled student.
Experience:
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to perform physical work, including standing, walking, bending, lifting, and carrying materials. Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team. Dependable, punctual, and willing to learn. Previous experience with landscaping, turf maintenance, athletic fields, or equipment operation is helpful but not required.
Working Hours and Days:
20 hours Monday- Friday some weekends
