Responsibilities Operate snow removal equipment such as plows, blowers, shovels, and salt spreaders to clear snow and ice from designated areas Assess weather conditions regularly to determine the most effective snow removal strategies Apply de-icing materials safely and efficiently to prevent ice formation on walkways and surfaces Perform routine inspections of outdoor areas to identify potential hazards caused by snow or ice buildup Maintain and troubleshoot groundskeeping equipment, including power tools and hand tools used for snow removal Follow all safety protocols diligently to ensure personal safety and that of colleagues during outdoor winter work Assist with general grounds maintenance tasks as needed, including landscaping or other seasonal outdoor duties Skills Strong mechanical knowledge of groundskeeping and snow removal equipment operation Experience with outdoor work in winter conditions, demonstrating resilience and safety awareness Knowledge of landscape maintenance, hardscape features, irrigation systems, and gardening principles Ability to identify plants and understand basic horticulture practices relevant to groundskeeping Familiarity with pesticide management, lawn care, mowing, and grounds maintenance techniques Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and landscaping equipment necessary for snow removal tasks Adherence to safety protocols while operating equipment and handling hazardous materials when necessary This role is perfect for individuals passionate about outdoor work who thrive in dynamic environments.
