Job Description
Job Summary Join our dynamic tree crew as a grounds man, where you will play a vital role in maintaining healthy, safe, and efficient work sites. This energetic position involves hands-on outdoor work, utilizing specialized equipment and arborist techniques to perform tree care, removal, pruning, and stump removal. Your expertise will help ensure the safety of both the environment and the community while supporting our mission to promote thriving green spaces. Ideal candidates are motivated, safety-conscious, and passionate about horticulture and outdoor work. Duties Perform tree removal, trimming, and pruning using chainsaws, chippers and arborist rigging techniques to ensure safe and efficient work Assist certified Arborist with daily set up, re-fueling equipment, chipping brush, maintaining a clean work site, raking debris, rigging and overall daily operations pertaining to tree crew. Conduct plant pruning care and tree trimming to promote healthy growth and aesthetic appeal Execute rigging procedures for large or hazardous tree removals with precision and adherence to safety protocols Apply arborist rigging techniques to dismantle trees safely in complex environments Maintain a thorough understanding of tree care practices, dendrology (study of trees), horticulture, lawn care, landscaping, and growing experience to support sustainable practices Prior outdoor work experience in forestry, landscaping, horticulture, or related fields is preferred Knowledge of GIS technology and its application in landscape management is a plus Hands-on experience operating chippers, chainsaws, and other relevant equipment required for tree work Familiarity with safety protocol adherence for climbing, rigging, and equipment operation is essential Demonstrated ability to perform tree removal, pruning, and plant care with attention to detail and safety standards Understanding of arborist techniques including rigging methods for complex or hazardous trees Join us to make a meaningful impact on green spaces while advancing your skills in a vibrant outdoor environment.
