SWA is seeking a Seasonal Utility Worker in Ontario, OR!
Pay Up To:
$18.00/hour
Schedule:
Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:30pm
Consideration Requirements:
Must pass a background check, drug test, and a DMV driving record check Possess a valid driver's license Ability to perform heavy manual labor for extended periods Ability to operate various types of machinery and tools safely and effectively Basic computer skills and ability to learn relevant software programs Strong communication skills—both verbal and written Ability to work independently and as part of a team Reliable attendance and adherence to scheduled work hours
Daily Duties:
Seasonal Position - Duration and schedule may vary depending on department needs Work may involve exposure to various weather conditions and requires physical stamina Maintain parks, cemeteries, medians, and parkways; remove weeds and maintain landscaping Install, maintain, and repair sprinkler systems and irrigation lines Operate a variety of heavy and light equipment, including loaders, backhoes, mowers, snow plows, chainsaws, and trucks Perform general building and grounds maintenance including painting, plumbing, carpentry, and mechanical repairs Plant and maintain lawns, trees, shrubs, and flowers Clean and maintain park facilities and public building exteriors/interiors Clear snow from sidewalks, parking lots, and cemetery lanes Set up and take down equipment for recreational programs and facility events Assist in park construction and facility improvement projects Collect and dispose of litter and solid waste from grounds and buildings Lock and unlock facilities as needed Maintain accurate records and adhere to all safety procedures Respond to emergency or unscheduled maintenance needs outside of regular hours Use computers and software for basic word processing, record-keeping, and communication Measure and compute using both metric and standard system
