$20-30 hr/ based on experience Job Summary Potts Tree Service LLC is looking for a dependable, hardworking Groundman/Laborer to join our growing tree-care crew. This is a physically demanding outdoor position assisting with tree removals, pruning, brush cleanup, chipping, equipment operation, and general jobsite organization. The ideal candidate is safety-conscious, reliable, able to follow directions, and comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions. Previous tree-service, landscaping, construction, or equipment experience is helpful, but we are willing to train the right person. Responsibilities Assist climbers and equipment operators during tree removals and pruning Drag, carry, and stage brush and logs Feed brush safely into a wood chipper Use ropes to help control and lower limbs under supervision Operate chainsaws, pole saws, blowers, and other tools when trained and authorized Assist with loading wood, debris, tools, and equipment Maintain a clean, organized, and safe jobsite Set up cones, signs, and work zones for traffic and pedestrian safety Perform daily inspections and basic maintenance on tools and equipment Follow instructions from the crew leader and maintain awareness around workers aloft Communicate clearly with climbers, operators, coworkers, and customers Help clean and maintain trucks, trailers, and equipment Perform other tree-service and general labor duties as needed Qualifications At least 18 years old Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Able to lift and carry approximately 50-75 pounds repeatedly Able to work on uneven ground and perform strenuous physical labor Comfortable working around chainsaws, chippers, ropes, falling debris, and heavy equipment Able to work outdoors in heat, cold, rain, and other changing conditions Dependable, punctual, and willing to learn Able to follow safety procedures and directions Must report to work free from the influence of drugs or alcohol Preferred Experience Previous tree-service, landscaping, forestry, farming, or construction experience Experience operating chainsaws or wood chippers Knowledge of basic knots, ropes, and rigging Experience operating a mini skid steer or similar equipment CDL or experience driving work trucks and trailers First Aid/CPR or OSHA training What We Offer Competitive pay based on experience and ability On-the-job training Opportunities to learn chainsaw operation, rigging, climbing, and equipment operation Opportunities for increased responsibility and advancement A small, growing company with steady opportunities for dependable employees Schedule Work generally begins in the morning and continues until the scheduled jobs are completed.
