JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS
The Office of Physical Plant is currently hiring qualified individuals for summer Landscape work from May through mid-August. The position requires 40 hours of work per week . Qualified candidates please apply via Workday at https://hr.psu.edu/careers .
Landscape Duties:
Assist in maintaining and landscape University grounds using tractors, mowers, sprayers, spreaders, light construction, and landscape equipment . Cut, trim, fertilize, aerify, roll, seed, re-seed and water lawns, including athletic areas. Plant, transplant, prune, weed, feed, spray, cultivate flowers, trees, and shrubs. Remove brush, leaves, grass clippings, paper, spoil, cinders, and rubbish from walks, roads, curbs, parking lots, lawns and other University property. Remove paint and other materials defacing the exterior of university property. Operate trucks, tractors, hi-lifts, back-hoe, power mowers, sprayers, compressors, spreaders, pneumatic hammer, York rake, Olsen grader, power saw, chain saw, and other landscape and light construction equipment. Adjust, clean, oil, grease, inspect water level, anti-freeze and air pressure of tires on equipment. Erect or remove various types of fences, posts traffic and directory signs. Control pests, using various acceptable methods. Report unusual job conditions to supervisor. Operate motor vehicle as required. Perform other duties related or similar to the type described above.
