Position Type:

FullTime. : Maintain safe, clean, and attractive grounds and landscaping for all district facilities, including athletic fields, landscaped areas, and surrounding school property.

Salary:

Skills:

Ability to read and understand written instructions (English). Ability to communicate verbally.

Ability to operate:

Riding/power mowers. Power tools. Hand tools. Ability to operate PC and basic software applications.

Experience:

Related grounds or maintenance experience preferred.

Major Responsibilities & Duties:

Grounds Maintenance:

Mow and detail all district grounds, including athletic fields. Care for trees, shrubs, flowers (watering, pruning, fertilizing, mulching, weed control). Plant shrubs and vegetation. Assist with athletic field preparation (chalking, lining fields). Collect and dispose of leaves, dirt, rubbish, debris. Inspect and repair sprinkler systems.

Facilities Maintenance & Repair:

Prioritize and process maintenance work orders. Perform repairs and assist skilled workers as needed. Work with principals/facilities managers to schedule tasks. Clean around roof drains clogged with debris.

Inspection Duties:

Inspect district buildings and facilities; initiate repairs as needed. Conduct onsite repair inspections. Perform monthly inspections of district building roofs.

Safety:

Operate tools/equipment safely. Follow all established safety procedures. Correct unsafe conditions and report those not correctable. Inspect/adjust tools/equipment for safety and preventive maintenance. Maintain vehicle, equipment, and tools in safe operating condition.

Tractor. Riding/power mowers. Gas weed trimmer. Blower. Edger. Sprayer. Striping machine. Garden/hand tools. Posthole auger. Aerator. Light truck. Van. Composter.

Environmental Factors:

Continual walking, standing, climbing, stooping, bending, kneeling, reaching. Heavy lifting and carrying. Outdoor work around moving objects/vehicles.

Exposure to:

Extreme temperatures. Chemicals (herbicides, fertilizers). Loud noises. Frequent districtwide travel.

Background Requirements:

Candidates must pass a drug screen and background check. Due to the nature of the employers business, company policy requires that candidates with a criminal background will not be considered for employment.
