Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Grounds Keeper, Maintenance Worker, and Porter to maintain the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of our facilities and outdoor spaces. This vital role ensures that our environment remains welcoming, well-maintained, and safe for staff, visitors, and residents alike. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to upholding high standards of sanitation and facility upkeep through hands-on maintenance and custodial tasks. Responsibilities Perform routine cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, dusting, trash removal, and restroom sanitation using appropriate cleaning equipment and chemicals. Handle custodial responsibilities such as floor buffing, floor care maintenance, and applying cleaning agents safely to ensure a spotless environment. Conduct general groundskeeping tasks such as lawn care, shrub trimming and landscape upkeep to keep outdoor areas attractive and accessible. Assist with light maintenance tasks including minor repairs, painting (residential or commercial), and ensuring facilities are in good working order. Operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, vacuums, pressure washers, fork lift's and other janitorial tools while following safety protocols. Follow chemical handling safety procedures when using cleaning agents or industrial chemicals to prevent accidents or health hazards. Support heavy lifting activities using safe lifting practices to move furniture, supplies, or equipment efficiently without injury. Experience Prior janitorial or custodial experience in commercial or residential settings is preferred. Familiarity with cleaning equipment including floor buffers and industrial cleaning tools is highly desirable. Knowledge of sanitation standards and safety protocols related to chemical handling is essential. Experience with facilities maintenance tasks such as minor repairs or painting will be considered an asset. Demonstrated ability to perform heavy lifting safely and adhere to safety procedures in a fast-paced environment.
