Job Description

Seasonal Landscaping Assistant Riverside Landscaping, a locally owned and operated company, is looking for a hardworking and reliable individual to join the team as a Seasonal Landscaping Assistant for the next 3-4 months during the busy season. You will work side by side with the owner and team lead assisting them with all tasks related to each landscaping project, learning skill sets along the way. The ideal candidate enjoys a hard day's work outdoors shoveling and raking dirt, moving rocks, laying sod, pouring concrete, building retaining walls, installing sprinklers, planting trees and gardens. Throughout the day, you are also responsible for filling out work orders, cleaning and maintaining tools, and keeping a clean work area and service vehicle. Because each day is different and emergency service calls arise, you must be independent, flexible and willing to change direction in a moment's notice to finish the job. This position requires working outside in cold and hot weather conditions, getting dusty and dirty and going beyond the call of duty to meet and exceed our customers expectations. The successful candidate comes to work with a positive, can-do attitude, is process driven, has common sense to solve problems and enjoys seeing the results of their hard work at the end of the day. Riverside Landscaping has been providing landscaping design, yard clean-ups, irrigation installs, planting and everything in between for over 5 years in Powell, Wyoming. The responsibilities of the job include: Performing all physical duties related to preparing an outdoor area for landscaping (shoveling, raking dirt, moving rocks, etc.) Performing all physical duties related to pouring concrete, building retaining walls, installing sprinklers and irrigation systems, laying sod, planting trees and plants Filling out work orders and all paperwork related to each project Communicating clearly and effectively with team members and customers to provide excellent internal and external customer service This position requires the following experience and skill sets: 1+ years' experience working outdoors in a physically demanding position (construction, landscaping, property maintenance positions) 1+ years' experience in a customer service role 1+ years' experience pouring concrete (preferred, not required) 1+ years' experience working with sprinkler and irrigation systems (preferred, not required) Experience raking, shoveling, handling of cleaning, yard maintenance, and operating hand tools Experience troubleshooting pumps, irrigation and light equipment a plus Handyman skill sets a plus for commercial property maintenance services Professional communication skills Physical stamina: ability to stand on feet 10-12 hours a day in ever-changing working conditions Ability to lift a minimum of 60+ lbs. Willingness to learn all the related skill sets to complete a landscaping project from start to finish Knowledge of safe working practices and conditions Ability to take feedback from team members acceptingly and actively work to improve skill sets and behaviors Willingness to adhere to our uniform standards that require team members to be presentable in front of customers as well as safe around machinery (no jewelry, dangling objects capable of getting caught on equipment, tools, etc.) Ability to pass a background check The ideal candidate will have the following characteristics: Positive, can-do, old-school work ethic Independent, self-motivated; takes pride in a job well done Takes direction well; flexible and accepts change in direction with a moment's notice Capable of handling crazy, emotionally charged busy days and finding things to do during slow times Honesty and integrity Punctuality, consistency and reliability Goes beyond the call of duty Team player•no one person is more important than anyone else
Work Schedule & Requirements:
Seasonal Position:
July until October•possibility for additional opportunities depending on weather and skill sets of the applicant
Full-Time:
Monday to Thursday; 4-10 hour shifts•6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Some overtime possible during the week and on Friday; Rare Saturday hours
Compensation :
$ 16.00•18.00/hr.+; dependent upon demonstrated skill sets
