We're a locally owned, growing lawn-care company serving the Midlands of South Carolina. We're building a strong team of people who work hard and enjoy what we do. We stay curious and optimistic, do the right thing and treat the people we serve as clients not just customers. As a Sprout Tech team member, we want you to feel supported, challenged and proud to be a part of what we're accomplishing together. We don't expect every day to go perfectly. Problems happen - it's how you respond and solve them that matters. If you enjoy leading people, improving systems and helping build something special, you may be a great fit for Sprout Tech. Your Big 3
People :
Lead, train, coach and hold technicians accountable.
Production :
Make sure the team completes the right work safely, correctly and efficiently.
Preparation:
Make tomorrow easier before today ends. What You'll Be Responsible For Lead daily technician meetings and clearly communicate priorities, expectations, weather concerns and application information. Conduct morning gate checks and get technicians dispatched on time with the correct products, PPE, supplies and working equipment. Serve as the technicians' first point of contact for daily field and operational issues. Review upcoming routes, technician workloads and department capacity several days ahead. Monitor production, route completion, efficiency, calibration numbers and chemical usage. Adjust routes and workloads when weather, call-outs, equipment problems or other disruptions occur. Train new technicians and determine when they are ready to work independently. Coach existing technicians and hold them accountable for attendance, performance, safety, documentation and company procedures. Conduct targeted technician checkups and property inspections throughout the week. Verify application technique, calibration, mixing rates, product selection, property coverage and label compliance. Keep trucks, equipment and inventory organized, operational and ready for the following day. Meet technicians as they return, review the completed day and help prepare for tomorrow. What a
Typical Day May Look Like Morning :
Lead the team, complete gate checks, solve immediate problems and get everyone dispatched properly. After dispatch : Review production and calibration numbers, plan several days ahead and decide which technicians or properties need to be checked. Field time : Observe technicians, inspect properties, conduct quality checks, provide coaching and help with difficult situations.
Afternoon :
Meet technicians as they return, discuss the completed day and make sure trucks, equipment and products are ready for tomorrow. This is a hands-on leadership position split between the shop, field and administrative planning. You may help with production when needed, but you will not normally carry a full route that prevents you from leading the department. You Are Probably the Right Candidate If You enjoy helping people improve and are willing to hold them accountable. You notice problems and take action before someone has to ask. You are organized and naturally think several days ahead. You can have direct, respectful conversations when expectations aren't being met. You take pride in running an efficient, prepared and professional operation. You enjoy being in the field, making decisions and taking ownership of results. You Are Not the Right Candidate for This Position If You want to spray your own route all day and avoid managing people. You avoid difficult conversations or struggle to hold others accountable. You need someone to continually tell you what to do next. You wait until the last minute to plan or prepare. You allow small problems to continue instead of addressing them. You don't like reviewing numbers, routes, calibration records or employee performance. You want a predictable 40-hour-per-week position. You aren't willing to arrive early, stay until the team is prepared or adjust when weather and operational problems arise. You believe being a manager means watching from the office instead of working alongside the team. You blame others when the department doesn't perform instead of taking ownership and finding a solution. Required Qualifications Current pesticide applicator license. Previous professional lawn-care experience. Previous management or team-leadership experience. Strong understanding of turf, weeds, lawn-care products, calibration and application practices. Proven ability to train, coach and hold people accountable. Strong planning, organization and problem-solving skills. Ability to review production numbers, routes, calibration records and CRM documentation. Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record. Ability to work outdoors in changing weather conditions. Willingness and ability to work 50 or more hours per week when needed. Compensation & Benefits $70,000-$80,000 annual salary, based on experience. Performance-based bonus package. 3% company retirement match. Paid holidays. Company pays 60% of medical insurance premiums. Company pays 100% of dental and vision insurance premiums. Why Sprout Tech? We're building more than a lawn-care company. We're building a strong team, better systems and a company where people communicate, follow through and take pride in what they do. You'll have the opportunity to lead an established spray team, improve how the department operates and play an important role in Sprout Tech's continued growth. If you have the lawn-care knowledge, leadership experience and personal accountability we're looking for, we'd like to hear from you.
