Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY
The Agri-Park Director serves as the primary custodian of the Giles County Agri-Park. This position is responsible for overseeing all daily park operations, facilities management, grounds maintenance, event coordination, and community engagement. The Director reports to the Giles County Agri-Park Board at bi-monthly meetings and receives additional direction from the Giles County Executive.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Park Operations
  • Opens and closes the park according to established schedules, ensuring the park is accessible to the public during authorized hours.
  • Oversees daily park operations, ensuring all facilities are clean, safe, and in good working order.
  • Ensures all park rules and regulations are followed by visitors and event participants.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for park visitors, addressing questions, concerns, and feedback.
  • Reports any disrepair or damage to equipment or facilities to the County Executive. Maintenance and Facilities
  • Performs routine maintenance and repairs, including basic plumbing, electrical, and general upkeep.
  • Conducts grounds maintenance, including grass-cutting, string-trimming, and herbicide application.
  • Coordinates with the County Executive to oversee external contractors for specialized maintenance or repairs when needed. Events and Community Engagement
  • Facilitates park events, including community gatherings and special programs as authorized by the Agri-Park Board. Administration and Reporting
  • Manages park budgets and resources, ensuring efficient use of funds and materials.
  • Liaises with the County Finance Office to ensure all procurement procedures are followed.
  • Prepares regular reports to the Board of Directors and county officials on park operations, maintenance needs, and event outcomes.
  • Attends bi-monthly Agri-Park Board meetings to report on park operations and receive direction.
WORKING CONDITIONS
  • This position involves both indoor and outdoor work in various weather conditions.
  • Physical activity, including lifting, bending, and operating maintenance equipment, is required.
  • Flexibility in work hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, is required depending on park events and seasonal demands.
SUPERVISION AND PERFORMANCE ASSESSMENT
The Agri-Park Director reports to the Giles County Agri-Park Board during bi-monthly meetings and receives additional direction from the Giles County Executive. Performance will be assessed by the Agri-Park Board.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • Demonstrated experience in facility or grounds maintenance, including basic plumbing, electrical, and equipment operation.
  • Ability to operate grounds maintenance equipment including mowers and string trimmers.
  • Experience with budget management and procurement procedures.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills; ability to serve as the primary contact for park visitors, the Board, and county officials.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Must pass a background check prior to commencement of services.
  • Must comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
