Canyon Lake Parks Seasonal Staff Personnel for the Water Oriented Recreation District of Comal County (W.O.R.D.) Parks Department.

Job Overview:

Park Staff will assist with park duties at Canyon Park, Comal Park, and/or Cranes Mill Park to ensure parks are clean and to educate visitors on park rules while creating a welcoming environment.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Grounds:

Staff member is responsible for the cleanliness of grounds including shorelines, roadways, parking lots, picnic sites, and nature trails. At times, the staff member will need to walk the shoreline and other areas where vehicle access is not possible to ensure the park grounds are clean and prevent trash from getting into waterways. Ensure trash barrels are not overflowing by emptying frequently. Maintains clean bathrooms and portable toilets by restocking toilet paper and picking up trash. Assist with enforcing park rules. Ensure cleanliness of playground, grills, and all other areas of recreation. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Must be able to work every weekend and holiday, including Labor Day (September 7, 2026) Must be able to operate ATV/UTV's in a safe manner Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Must be able to extensively walk on even and uneven terrain. Must be able to work in Texas summer heat for up to 8 hours. Must be able to interact and assist park customers with strong communication skills. Must be eager to learn and work.

Qualifications:

Must be at least 16 years old with a driver's license Spanish speaking a plus but not required

Pay Rate:

$15.00/hour. End of season bonus, referral fee, and tuition reimbursement are available with qualifiers.

Employment duration:

July through September You will be required to work weekends and holidays. This position is not eligible for remote work.
