Overview The Parks Technician II - Athletic Field Operations will coordinate and perform skilled and semi-skilled labor in various aspects of Athletic Field Maintenance Program, including turf and skinned area maintenance, mowing, irrigation, minor construction, repairs and related services activities for the City's sport complexes. Responsibilities
Coordinates and performs athletic field and ground maintenance including mowing, aerifying, topdressing, seeding, sodding, trimming, field painting, irrigation and turf care, etc
Follows proper safety precautions; installation and care of trees and shrubs, proper pruning techniques and tree removal
Performs infield maintenance and repair work of baseball/softball fields including wearing infields, repairing bases, pitching, mounds, batter's boxes, transition areas of infield and outfield
Constructs new planting areas and maintain high traffic wear areas on athletic fields
Operates and drives a variety of specialized equipment utilized in assigned projects including tractors, lawn mowers, power and hand tools such as chain saws, weed eaters, edgers and related equipment
Performs maintenance of irrigation system including preventive maintenance, replacement of heads, broken pipes, winterization and summarization of irrigation system
Coordinates a variety of preventive maintenance and general maintenance repair on work equipment, buildings and facilities
Picks up paper and other debris; sweeps entrances; clean and disinfect drinking fountains and restrooms
Replenished and maintain restroom supplies including soap dispensers, tissues and towels Position Type and Typical Hours of Work
Non-Exempt - Full Time
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is a schedule requirement

Two (2) years of experience Certifications, Licenses or other requirements Required
