DESIGN & PLAN

is a growing architectural design firm specializing in residential and small commercial projects throughout the Hudson Valley and surrounding New York areas. We provide high-quality, permit-ready construction drawings, renovations, additions, new homes, as-built documentation, and code consulting. We pride ourselves on responsive service, fast turnaround times, and delivering professional plans that help our clients move their projects forward. Position Overview We are seeking a New York Licensed Architect (Registered Architect) to join our firm as a part-time consultant . This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced architect who enjoys mentoring, reviewing projects, and helping guide a growing design practice. The ideal candidate is looking for a flexible arrangement of approximately 3-5 hours per week , with the potential for additional involvement as the firm continues to grow. Responsibilities Review architectural drawings for code compliance, constructability, and permit readiness. Provide technical guidance and answer architectural and building code questions. Review and, where appropriate, serve as Architect of Record and seal drawings prepared under your responsible supervision and in accordance with New York State requirements. Coordinate with engineers and consultants as needed. Assist in developing office standards and quality control procedures. Qualifications Active New York State Architect License required. Minimum 5 years of architectural experience preferred. Strong knowledge of the New York State Building Code and residential construction. Experience preparing permit and construction documents.
