Overview We are seeking a motivated and skilled Asphalt Screed or Paver Operator to join our dynamic paving team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for operating asphalt screed machines to ensure smooth, level pavement surfaces on various paving projects. Your expertise will help deliver high-quality roadways and infrastructure, contributing to the success of our construction initiatives. Duties Operate asphalt screed or paver machines to lay asphalt with precision, ensuring consistent thickness and smoothness across the project site Coordinate with the paving crew to maintain optimal paving speeds and quality standards Monitor equipment performance, perform routine maintenance checks, and troubleshoot mechanical issues promptly Assist with the setup of paving equipment, including loading materials and positioning machinery for efficient operation Support other construction activities such as concrete forming, concrete finishing, and rebar installation as needed Maintain safety protocols at all times by adhering to OSHA standards and site-specific safety procedures Document daily work activities, equipment usage, and any incidents or irregularities for project records Qualifications Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as asphalt screed machines, excavators, loaders, dump trucks, and concrete mixers Strong mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and perform basic repairs on paving equipment Familiarity with construction site operations including concrete pumping, rebar installation, and formwork processes driver's license preferred for operating or transporting construction vehicles, CDL license is a bonus, are not required to have a license but must be able to get back and forth to jobs Prior experience working on paving projects or in a construction environment is highly desirable Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while maintaining safety and efficiency Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude to collaborate effectively with crew members Join us in building lasting infrastructure!
