Full Time Open Until Filled. $19.64 to $21.60 hourly. Actual salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications. South Area/Melbourne/Travels Countywide. Work schedule is Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and may include evenings, weekends, and holidays. Performs skilled crafts and trades work operating moderately complex automotive vehicles or equipment and performing routine automotive service and maintenance.
REQUIREMENTS
Three (3) years of experience operating moderately complex automotive vehicles used for asphalt (pothole) patching; OR two (2) years of experience as a Brevard County Automotive Equipment Operator II. Additional qualifying education and/or experience may be substituted on a year for year basis. Experience operating a single axle Freightliner Pro-Patch asphalt patch truck, used to repair potholes and utility cuts on County-maintained roadways is preferred. Experience in repairing asphalt and knowledge of traffic control and safety is preferred. Experience with a work management system, including tasks like opening and closing work orders and uploading photo documentation is preferred.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Must possess, or obtain prior to employment, a valid Florida Class B Commercial Driver's license and maintain said license during the term of employment. This job involves heavy physical work and requires exposure to construction debris, moving machinery, traffic, extreme weather conditions, hot asphalt and tack, noise, dirt, and dust. In the event of a hurricane, major storm, or any natural or man-made disaster threatening the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.
