PRIMARY FUNCTION

This position will operate screed on asphalt paver. You will make normal operating adjustments for obtaining proper depth, grade and finished cross section. May perform other related duties to include adding or removing screed extensions.

Job requires the following motions:

stretching, bending, pushing, pulling, twisting, throwing, walking, standing, reaching, and squatting. Requires regular lifting of 25 pounds, occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds. Uses tools such as shovel, hand/motorized tamp. Walking and standing each occupy 50% of the work day. Overtime work is required. May be exposed to extremes of hot or cold weather. Requires riding to and from job sites. The job duties described herein are not exhaustive and may be supplemented. This position will report directly to the Paving Foreman.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Operates screed on asphalt paver. Makes normal operating adjustments for obtaining proper depth, grade and finished cross section;
May perform other related duties to include adding or removing screed extensions;
May occasionally operate paving equipment, including; power broom, plate compactor, paving machine, shuttle buggy and/or vibratory roller;
Maintains, oils, greases, services and make normal operating .
