This is an entry level position with opportunity to advance for motivated people. Our Operations Manager is highly skilled and is willing to train the right people with the skills they need to achieve success in this industry. Whether you are young and looking to embark on your first real career, or you have some life experience and are looking for a change. Faith Paving can help you pave the way to your future. Starting pay for this position is $16/hr, but as you develop skills and take on more responsibilities. The pay will go up accordingly.
Requirements:
Faith Paving fosters a zero tolerance drug free work environment. Yes, marijuana is a drug and falls under our zero tolerance.
This position can be labor intensive and we work in extreme heat situations.
We do require all personnel to maintain a professional demeanor on customer job sites. Profane shirts and yelling curse words at each other on a job site will not be considered acceptable conduct
Must possess a valid drivers license
Duties:
We don't mince words when it comes to our job description. The entry level position on an asphalt team is hard work. The sun and asphalt are hot, sometimes the hours get long, and the work can be labor intensive. On the bright side it's a great way to stay in shape. The typical day to day includes but is not limited to the following:
Prep trucks with materials and equipment needed for the days job.
Raking, edging, shoveling, and compacting asphalt or base material
Applying crack fill and seal materials to repair damaged asphalt
Load and unload materials and equipment from trucks
Assist with the transportation of materials to job sites
Once you become proficient at the above duties you are then eligible to begin training on operating equipment such as skid steer, box scraper (tractor), roller, excavator, paver, etc.
Experience operating heavy equipment is not required, but is helpful
Skills:
We are willing to train the right people to develop the skills they need to succeed
Knowledge of paving techniques and experience in spreading asphalt are helpful but not required
Ability to work independently and as part of a team is a must
