We're hiring an experienced Grading Foreman / Heavy Equipment Operator who can run finish grade and lead a crew. If you've been carrying someone else's crew without the title or the pay to match — or you're tired of decisions about your future coming from people who've never set foot on your jobsite — this is your seat. What you'll do Lead the grading crew and set the pace for clean, accurate site prep ahead of paving Run the iron — graders (including a GPS-equipped machine), skid loaders, rollers, and backhoes Read blueprints and shoot grade with transit/laser levels; set and verify stakes Make rough and finish grade, and troubleshoot in the field without waiting on anyone Work hand-in-glove with the paving crew to keep transitions tight and downtime low Mentor the crew and keep the jobsite safe What you bring 3-5 years in grading/paving, with time as a lead operator (or clearly ready to lead) Confident reading blueprints and running transit/laser levels Finish-grade skill and the judgment to fix problems on the fly Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record OSHA 30, or willingness to earn it in your first year Pride in your work and respect for the people around you Why Munson $5,000 signing bonus (paid in installments over your first year) $47/hr base + ~$31/hr in benefits — about $78/hr in total compensation Home every night — local work across Greater Milwaukee and SE Wisconsin, no living out of a hotel Union wages, pension, and healthcare (Operating Engineers Local 139) Steady season with real overtime — consistent hours and a weekly check Good, well-maintained equipment, including GPS grade control Local, hands-on family ownership — no out-of-state corporate HQ, no red tape, and a foreman's call still carries weight here Referral bonuses when you bring in good people This is a lead role at a company that will still be here in another 70 years.
