In this vital role, you will oversee the installation, startup, operation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of industrial boilers and related mechanical systems. You will work alongside and lead a team of technicians to ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of boiler equipment. Approximately 95% of our work is performed on prevailing-wage projects , providing qualified technicians with significant opportunities to work on large-scale commercial, industrial, institutional, and public-sector projects. Your mechanical expertise, leadership abilities, and field service experience will play an important role in maintaining operational excellence, meeting project requirements, and ensuring the highest standards of safety and quality. Responsibilities Lead and support technicians in the installation, startup, operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial boilers and related mechanical systems. Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on industrial boilers to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and safety. Troubleshoot boiler systems using schematics, technical manuals, diagnostic tools, and testing equipment to accurately identify and resolve issues. Conduct preventive maintenance on boilers, heating systems, hydronic systems, and associated mechanical components. Read and interpret technical schematics, mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, and equipment documentation to facilitate repairs, installations, and system upgrades. Monitor boiler operations and adjust controls as necessary to maintain efficiency, reliability, and compliance with applicable safety requirements. Complete boiler startups, commissioning, functional operation testing, and troubleshooting. Collaborate with field service teams, project personnel, customers, and other trades to diagnose complex issues and complete timely repairs and installations. Provide technical guidance and direction to other technicians while maintaining a safe and productive work environment. Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, inspections, repairs, startup procedures, and system performance for compliance and reporting purposes. Work on a variety of prevailing-wage projects, which represent a majority of our company's workload, while meeting all applicable project, documentation, and timekeeping requirements. Maintain a professional relationship with customers and project personnel while representing the company with a high level of professionalism. Follow all company, customer, OSHA, and project-specific safety requirements and procedures. Qualifications Minimum of 5 years of experience as a boiler technician, with supervisory or lead-level experience strongly preferred. Proven experience as a industrial boiler technician or mechanic with a strong background in boiler systems, hydraulics, HVAC/R, or related fields. Solid mechanical knowledge with the ability to read schematics and technical manuals effectively. Hands-on experience with industrial maintenance practices in field service environments. Familiarity with troubleshooting techniques for boilers, hydronics, HVAC systems, and mechanical components. Previous experience working on prevailing-wage, public works, commercial, or industrial projects is highly desirable. Understanding of prevailing-wage project requirements, including accurate timekeeping and project documentation, is a plus. Excellent customer service skills with a focus on safety, communication, and teamwork. Ability to work independently in demanding environments while adhering to safety protocols.
