Job Locations:
Central and Southern California Overview Cement Masons in Local 600 are highly skilled tradespeople responsible for placing, finishing, and repairing concrete surfaces for a variety of construction projects. Members uphold the highest standards of craftsmanship, safety, and union solidarity while working on residential, commercial, and industrial sites. Key Responsibilities Place, level, and finish concrete for floors, sidewalks, curbs, gutters, and other structures. Operate hand tools and power equipment to smooth, shape, and texture concrete surfaces. Apply curing compounds and protective coatings to ensure durability and quality. Read and interpret blueprints and specifications to meet project requirements. Repair and patch existing concrete structures as needed. Maintain compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and union standards. Qualifications Completion of a recognized apprenticeship program or equivalent experience. Strong knowledge of concrete properties, finishing techniques, and tools. Ability to work in varying weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks. Commitment to safety and union principles. Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry heavy materials. Standing, bending, and kneeling for extended periods.
