at Aerotek in La Grange, Illinois, United States Job Description Carpenter Foreman Residential & Commercial Overview We are seeking experienced Construction Foremen to oversee residential and commercial construction projects throughout the Chicagoland area. This role is responsible for leading field crews, coordinating daily job site activities, ensuring quality workmanship, maintaining safety standards, and keeping projects on schedule. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with a strong carpentry and construction skillset who can effectively manage crews while contributing to the work when needed. Responsibilities + Lead and supervise carpenters, laborers, and subcontractors on active job sites + Coordinate daily construction activities to ensure projects remain on schedule and within scope + Perform and oversee carpentry work, including framing, drywall, finish carpentry, and general construction tasks + Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and project specifications + Plan material needs and coordinate deliveries with project management + Conduct daily safety meetings and ensure compliance with company and OSHA safety standards + Monitor quality of work and address deficiencies as they arise + Track project progress and communicate updates to project managers and clients + Train, mentor, and support crew members to maintain productivity and workmanship standards + Resolve job site issues and adjust schedules as needed to meet project deadlines Essential Skills + 5+ years of residential, commercial, or mixed construction experience + Previous experience leading crews as a Foreman, Lead Carpenter, Superintendent, or similar role + Strong knowledge of carpentry methods, construction practices, and building materials + Experience with wood framing, metal stud framing, drywall, and finish carpentry + Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications + Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment + Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills + Valid driver's license and reliable transportation + OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 certification Why Work Here?
