In person Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Lead Carpenter / Lead Hand to support custom residential construction projects in the Shreveport area. This is a hands-on field role for someone who can perform high-quality carpentry work while also helping coordinate daily jobsite activities and a small crew. Responsibilities Perform and lead rough and finish carpentry on custom residential projects. Coordinate daily carpentry tasks and help keep the crew productive and on schedule. Read residential plans, specifications, and measurements accurately. Complete framing, blocking, trim, finish carpentry, punch-list work, and related repairs. Coordinate with subcontractors and other trades to maintain workflow and avoid rework. Identify jobsite issues early and assist with practical field solutions. Maintain organized materials, tools, and work areas. Support quality control and ensure completed work meets project standards. Promote safe work practices and maintain a clean jobsite. Communicate project progress, material needs, and field concerns to project leadership. Qualifications Previous experience as a residential carpenter, lead carpenter, or lead hand . Custom home construction experience strongly preferred. Strong experience with both framing and finish carpentry. Ability to read plans and work from measurements with accuracy. Experience leading or directing a small crew. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship. Ability to troubleshoot jobsite issues and keep work moving. Reliable communication and professional jobsite conduct.
