Job Summary The Residential Construction Carpenter Technician plays a critical role in the final stages of newly built or progressing residential construction. This individual is responsible for inspecting finished residential spaces, identifying cosmetic and functional defects, and executing high-quality repairs to ensure the residential units meet final occupancy standards and expectations.

Key Responsibilities Drywall & Paint Touch-ups:

Patch, sand, texture, and paint drywall to seamlessly match existing walls and trim.

Finish Carpentry:

Adjust interior/exterior doors, install or repair baseboards, crown molding, casing, and cabinet hardware.

Minor Work:

Handle basic electrical tasks (replacing switch plates, hanging light fixtures) and basic plumbing (sealing leaks, installing faucets).

Hardware & Fixtures:

Mount blinds, towel bars, mirrors, and ensure all home appliances are properly installed and leveled.

Exterior Touch-ups:

Apply outdoor caulking, touch up exterior paint, trim siding, and check that windows and screens function properly.

Quality Assurance:

Walk through completed residential units (with project managers as required by company protocols) to create and execute final "punch lists" before potential homeowner walkthroughs.

Documentation:

Record completed tasks and communicate progress with project managers.

Job Requirements Experience:

Proven experience as a residential handyman, finish carpenter, or construction punch-out technician.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency with a wide range of hand and power tools (drills, saws, sanders, paint sprayers). Attention to

Detail:

An exceptional eye for cosmetic flaws, uneven surfaces, and functional defects.

Physical Demands:

Able to safely lift up to 50 pounds , climb ladders, and work in confined/tight spaces

Transportation:

A valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle (often a truck or van) to transport tools between job sites.

Key Skills & Traits Problem-Solving:

Ability to fix subpar craftsmanship quickly and efficiently.

Customer Service:

Professionalism and strong communication skills

Time Management:

Capable of managing multiple tasks independently across various residential properties.

Trade Skills:

Experience in carpentry, painting, drywall, and basic hand tools.

Problem Solving:

Ability to spot workmanship flaws and fix them quickly.

Safety:

Knowledge of OSHA guidelines, ladder and scaffolding safety as well as power equipment handling. ladder or equipment handling.

Pay:

$20.00 - $26.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
