Lead Carpenter - Residential Remodeling Ridgeway Contracting LLC Seneca / Lake Keowee, SC +

Western NC Full-Time Pay:

$24-$29/hour, based on experience Ridgeway Contracting is seeking an experienced Lead Carpenter / Residential Remodeler for remodeling, additions, decks, porches, and custom residential construction projects throughout Upstate South Carolina and Western North Carolina. We are looking for a well-rounded residential construction professional who can work independently, solve problems in the field, and help keep projects moving without constant supervision. Responsibilities Our projects vary considerably, so this is not strictly a framing or finish-carpentry position. Depending on the project, our in-house crew may perform portions of many different residential construction trades.

Typical work may include:

Framing and structural carpentry Decks, porches, stairs, and railings Interior and exterior finish carpentry Doors, windows, trim, siding, and exterior repairs Demolition and project preparation Concrete and masonry-related work Drywall repairs and small installations Painting and finishing Flooring and other interior remodeling work Excavation, footings, and site work Punch-list and repair work Assisting with other aspects of residential construction as needed Reading plans and project specifications Directing helpers or laborers when assigned Coordinating with subcontractors on site Maintaining clean, organized, professional jobsites Communicating professionally with homeowners Licensed or specialized trade work will be subcontracted when appropriate, but we are looking for someone comfortable working across multiple phases of residential construction rather than someone interested in performing only one trade. What We're Looking For 5+ years of residential construction or remodeling experience preferred Strong general carpentry skills Residential remodeling experience strongly preferred Broad knowledge of residential construction Ability to work independently without constant instruction Ability to accurately lay out, measure, cut, and install Ability to troubleshoot existing construction and develop practical solutions Comfortable working on occupied and higher-end homes Willingness to perform different types of construction work as projects require Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Dependable attendance Professional attitude and appearance You do not need to be an expert in every trade. We are primarily looking for a strong carpenter/remodeler who understands how houses are built and is willing and able to handle a wide variety of work.

Travel / Project

Locations Our primary service area includes Seneca, Clemson, Salem, Lake Keowee, and surrounding Upstate South Carolina communities. We also perform projects in Asheville, Hendersonville, and other areas of Western North Carolina. Employees should be comfortable with occasional travel to Western North Carolina when projects require it. Travel arrangements and compensation for longer-distance projects will be discussed based on project location. Compensation $20-$25/hour depending on experience and capability. Higher compensation within the range is intended for someone capable of independently completing carpentry and remodeling work, solving problems in the field, and taking responsibility for portions of a project.
