Job Summary Local builder with 30 years' experience is hiring for an immediate opening for a Skilled Hands-On, Working Lead Carpenter to help manage job sites and subcontractors on custom, spec, and remodel projects, with minimum to no supervision. Knowledge and experience of all phases of construction required. Hands-on carpentry skills required. Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead Carpenter/Carpenter to join our team and drive excellence in residential construction projects. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead carpentry crews, interpret detailed construction plans, and deliver high-quality craftsmanship on a variety of remodeling, restoration, and new build projects. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for executing precise carpentry work, supervising site activities, and ensuring safety standards are met. Your expertise will help us create beautiful, functional spaces that exceed client expectations and uphold our reputation for quality craftsmanship. Duties Lead and supervise carpentry crews to complete residential projects efficiently and to high standards of quality. Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and construction plans to ensure accurate execution of work. Perform a wide range of carpentry tasks including framing, trim installation, cabinet mounting, door hanging, siding, and fixture installation. Operate hand tools, power tools for woodworking, woodworking machines, CNC equipment, and heavy machinery safely and effectively. Manage material procurement, estimate construction costs accurately, and ensure proper use of wood construction materials. Oversee site safety protocols including power tool safety practices and proper handling of materials like plastering compounds and caulking products. Coordinate schedules, troubleshoot issues on-site, and maintain a clean, organized work environment. Requirements Proven experience in construction with a focus on residential carpentry or remodeling projects. Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, interpreting technical drawings, and understanding construction plans. Skilled in using hand tools, power tools for woodworking, woodworking machines, and framing equipment. Experience with fixture installation, door hanging, siding application, cabinet installation is highly desirable. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently on construction sites. Knowledge of power tool safety regulations and best practices for working with wood construction materials. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt quickly to changing project needs. Valid experience in the restoration industry or handyman work is a plus.
