SUMMARY As a Temporary Carpenter , you will perform short-term skilled carpentry, facility repair, renovation, and construction work to help keep Sundown M Ranch buildings and property safe and functional. Temporary employment is short term. The most essential tasks for which you will be responsible include: Constructing, installing, repairing, and maintaining framing, walls, ceilings, floors, siding, decking, fencing, and other building components. Installing and repairing doors, frames, windows, trim, molding, baseboards, cabinets, shelving, countertops, casework, fixtures, and related hardware. Performing rough and finish carpentry and assisting with drywall, flooring, and other construction-related repairs. Performing demolition and site preparation for approved remodeling, renovation, and repair projects. Reading drawings, sketches, measurements, work orders, and manufacturer instructions to plan assigned work. Measuring, cutting, shaping, assembling, fitting, and fastening materials using appropriate hand and power tools. Estimating material needs, preparing material lists, and handling and organizing materials for assigned projects. Inspecting building components and identifying needed repairs, safety concerns, or additional maintenance needs. Completing assigned work orders and documenting completed work and unresolved repair needs as required. Maintaining tools, power equipment, ladders, scaffolding, and work areas in safe, clean, and orderly condition. Following applicable safety practices, building requirements, infection-control precautions, and Ranch policies in occupied areas. Coordinating with Maintenance staff and other departments as needed to complete projects and minimize disruption. Other duties as determined and assigned by the Facilities Manager.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

There are no supervisory responsibilities required in this position.

QUALIFICATIONS

We prefer that you have a High School Diploma or equivalent. You must have experience in carpentry, construction, building maintenance, or related trade, with knowledge of rough and finish carpentry, tools, materials, methods, and safety practices. You must be able to read measurements, plans, sketches, and work instructions and accurately lay out, cut, fit, and install materials. You must be physically capable of performing heavy work. You must hold a valid Washington State driver's license.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, patients, and the community. Ability to speak clearly and concisely both in oral and written communication. Ability to perform duties with awareness of Sundown M Ranch requirements and Board of Directors' policies.
