Construction Technician Highmark Construction Group Starting Pay:

$25.00/hour with rapid advancement potential to $30.00/hour Full-Time Highmark Construction Group is looking for an experienced construction professional who wants to build a long-term career in the construction industry. This is not an entry-level position . We are looking for someone who already understands residential construction, knows how to work with tools, can produce quality work without constant supervision, and takes pride in doing things correctly. We perform residential remodeling, basement finishing, additions, carpentry, painting, and other construction projects. The right person will be exposed to a wide variety of work and will have an opportunity to grow as the company grows. What You'll Be Doing Typical responsibilities include: Rough carpentry and framing Finish carpentry and trim work Interior and exterior painting Staining and finishing Insulation installation Caulking and sealing Basic flooring installation Installation of doors, trim, hardware, and other building components Jobsite preparation and protection Material handling and organization Loading and unloading trucks and trailers Picking up and delivering construction materials Maintaining clean, professional jobsites Assisting with demolition and project preparation Working alongside project managers, other employees, and subcontractors Completing punch-list and finish work Because we are a remodeling and construction company, you must be comfortable doing different types of work rather than performing one trade every day. What We're Looking For Construction experience is required.

The ideal candidate:

Has solid residential construction experience Is proficient with common hand and power tools Understands basic residential construction methods Can perform quality carpentry and finish work Can follow plans, measurements, scopes of work, and instructions Can work independently when assigned a task Pays attention to details Shows up reliably and on time Keeps tools, materials, and jobsites organized Is comfortable working indoors and outdoors Can safely lift and move construction materials Is willing to learn and improve Takes responsibility for the quality of their work Has a valid driver's license and reliable transportation Is looking for a career in construction—not just a temporary job Compensation Starting pay: $25.00/hour We are willing to move the right person toward $30.00/hour quickly once they demonstrate that they can consistently handle the level of work and responsibility we need. We don't want to hold a strong employee at an entry wage. Increased compensation will be based on demonstrated ability, reliability, productivity, quality of work, and the amount of responsibility you can handle.
